DIRECT THERAPY

1. One-on-one sessions with a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) or a behavior technician.

2. The therapist uses individualized behavior change plans to focus on specific behaviors that need improvement.

3. Positive reinforcement is used to reward desired behaviors, and negative reinforcement is used to discourage undesired behaviors.

4. Therapy sessions can take place in a variety of settings, such as in-home, school, or clinical environments.

5. Sessions can include a variety of activities, such as practicing social skills, engaging in play activities, or practicing communication skills.

6. Progress is regularly tracked and analyzed to determine the effectiveness of the therapy and make adjustments to the behavior change plan.

7. Parent training and involvement is often a component of ABA therapy, as therapists work with parents to implement behavioral strategies at home.
